D.C.’s plans for Hine school revevelopment don’t include Tiger Woods

From the Washington Business Journal web site
Tiger Woods isn’t coming to Capitol Hill, or at least his charitable foundation isn’t.

A bid by the Irvine, Calif.-based Tiger Woods Foundation to redevelop Hine Jr. High School next to Eastern Market has been eliminated by Mayor Adrian Fenty’s economic development team, narrowing the list of potential private partners for the site from 10 to six.

The Woods foundation plans to open a learning center in the city but has not announced a site.

Teams led by Western Development Group, Stanton Development Corp., the Bozzuto Group, Equity Residential, StreetSense Inc. and Quadrangle Development Corp. are still in the running for Hine, a 131,300-square-foot Capitol Hill school. They will present their plans at a community meeting June 10.
